valerie faye pierce was born on october 17th in toronto, ontario, canada, to lily and caden pierce. caden left when valerie was around 2 years old. valerie had a very heathy relationship with her mother. she and amy met in 6th grade. around this time, valerie came out as a lesbian. in high school, valerie got her first job and started saving to move to the us with amy. when they finally did, valerie got her job as a barista in new york. she stayed in contact with her mother and visited as often as possible. when valerie was 22, her father reached out to her to try and come back into her life, but valerie rejected this. she'd learned that he had been abusive towards her mother for the duration of their relationship, and wanted nothing to do with him.
