stella marie owens was born on august 8th in sioux falls, south dakota, usa, to ryan and sofia owens. stella was sent to therapy at a young age due to violent tendencies towards her classmates, her parents, and her sister, emilia. at 12, stella fell into a freezing lake. she was pulled out by her best friend, lexie, but nearly died of hypothermia, and she developed severe fears of bodies of water and death. stella started to develop kleptomania around this time, and she started stealing money from her parents. she and lexie would also steal together. they slowly escalated from stealing small things to eventually attempting to rob a pharmacy. stella accidentally set off the pharmacy’s alarm system, and she and lexie were almost caught. they both blamed each other for this, and they fell out after. stella began stalking lexie after this, and when they were both 17, lexie overdosed on heroin while stella was watching from outside. stella was horrified, but didn’t call authorities out of fear of being caught stalking lexie. this experience traumatized stella, and worsened her fear of death. stella started learning music production not long after this because her therapist recommended picking up a new hobby to cope. she moved out at 18 and moved to nyc. amy and stella met when they were both 19 in nyc through a mutual friend. they started dating not long after, but their relationship quickly became unhealthy. stella was manipulative and violent towards amy, and their relationship was very codependent. stella also lied to amy often, once even lying that her sister had died, and cheated on her multiple times. stella produced amy’s first two albums, lonely star and uncover. they broke up when they were both 21 years old. amy was homeless for 5 months after this, and stella stalked her for a year. she only stopped after running out of money and having to move back in with her parents at 22. her parents were worried about her and started tracking her location constantly, as well as enforcing a curfew. stella’s parents found out that stella had been cheating on multiple people at once after stella left her phone open, and became even more worried for her. they recommended that she start therapy again and offered to pay for it, so she started going. stella got a job at justice at 24 and eventually made enough money to move out again, so she moved into an apartment on her own. she started stealing from her parents again after this to be able to afford to keep her apartment. she would steal things and pawn them, and steal cash from them. stella started dating ellie again at 25, but they broke up again at 26. when stella was 26, she was also fired from her job at justice, and started working at a gas station, but was fired there for stealing. when she was 27, stella’s house was broken into while she was at work. they stole almost all of her valuables. stella moved to ohio after this out of fear of it happening again.
