paige harper daniels was born on june 4th in racine, west virginia, usa, to bethany and troy daniels. when paige was 11, her father committed suicide, and when she was 12, her mother was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. while her mother was hospitalized, paige was placed into foster care. paige left foster care at 13, and met her best friend, april adams. she produced all of paige’s albums, with her first, adore, being released when she was just 16. paige left home at 18 to go to college at nyu and study psychology, but dropped out after a severe manic episode, which she was hospitalized for. after leaving the psych ward, paige cut contact with her mother, who had been emotionally abusive and negligent towards her since her father passed. hailey and paige met when they were 19 at nyu. they started dating after a few months. their relationship was healthy in the beginning, but after a while, hailey started to push her problems onto paige and expected her to fix them. however, after paige was hospitalized, hailey broke up with ver via phone call because she couldn’t handle paige struggling with her mental health. paige and paul met when paige was 21 and paul was 22 in london while paige was on tour. they started dating after a few months. paige is a lesbian and paul is a gay man, but they hadn’t realized this about themselves yet. paige and paul’s relationship was an unhappy one for most of the time they were together. paul often belittled paige’s interests and wants, and was very unaffectionate towards her. they both cheated on each other, paige with her ex, hailey, and paul with a man he met via linkedin, joseph. they broke up when paige was 25 and paul was 26. after breaking up with paul, paige met a man named cole, and they dated for a month. she started dating amy a few months after breaking up with him, and released her 7th album, love letter when she was 27. when paige was 27, her mother had gotten a kidney infection, so she went to stay with her in the hospital. this was the first time they’d spoken in 8 years. this was when amy attempted suicide. paige came home as soon as she could, and when amy left the psych ward, she tried her best to support her, and enouraged her to go back to therapy. this, of course, was a very hard time for paige, and much of her trauma from her father’s suicide and her mother’s attempt resurfaced.
